Two More Weeks Left To Review Google-AdMob Deal – Outrank.com Search Marketing News

Outrank.com recently found, according to two sources cited by the New York Times, that the Federal Trade Commission now has two more weeks to investigate Google’s $750 million purchase of mobile advertising giant AdMob.
While multiple outlets have speculated that the FTC would block the acquisition, recent developments suggest otherwise. Apple, who lost in a bidding war against Google for AdMob, has acquired Quattro Wireless–a rival mobile advertiser. According to the Times, The FTC now appears to be taking extra time to rethink the impact Google’s new arm would have on the fairness of such a competition.
It remains to be seen what impact this partnership will have on search engine marketers. However, if allowed, Google will have an undoubtedly stronger influence on the development of mobile internet marketing.
